Musician John Stubblefield was born on Sunday February 4, 1945, and he died on Monday July 4, 2005. Stubblefield was born in the United States of America, and he play jazz saxophone, flute, and oboe.

John Stubblefield also served as the jazz ensemble director at Rutgers University for a time period.
John Stubblefield wrote the song Baby Man, which was performed by pianist Mary Lou Williams on the first episode of NPR's Piano Jazz, hosted by jazz pianist Marian McPartland.
